Heart Failure Progression

Heart failure is a complex and dynamic condition. Whether your heart failure is early-stage or advanced-stage, there are many factors and treatment options that must be considered by you and your medical team. With all the treatment options available, there is hope at every stage for longer living and improved quality of life.

When you are in the early stages of heart failure progression, time is on your side. Lifestyle changes and drug therapies can be enough to control your heart failure symptoms. However, in the advanced stages of heart failure, drug therapy may not be enough. Other options include cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), heart transplantation, and/ or a heart pump called a ventricular assist device (VAD) that helps maintain the pumping ability of the heart.

While heart failure has no specific cure, there is always hope that you can reduce the severity of your symptoms.
